All these years I have quit Tzuchi Singapore due to internal politicking, but as a Mahayana Buddhist I swear by Tzuchi's efforts at promoting filial piety. No Buddhist organisation does it better than Tzuchi at brain washing young adolescents about the importance of gratitude towards our parents especially mothers.
When I was still in Tzuchi more than a decade ago, I was responsible for guiding primary school and secondary school students in practising propriety and respect for ones' parents. This clip below showcases how we engage our young ones to encourage them to repay it forward.
This day is Tzuchi's 60th anniversary and Buddha Day celebration at Yishun Stadium, it also coincides with Mothers' Day. I will be attending the event with my family. The VVVVIP guest of honour is President Tharman Shanmugaratnam.
