A Brief Introduction About Myself

I am a former IT Consultant and Project Engineer who transitioned away from corporate life after being diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder. Over the past seven years, I’ve focused on recovery, caregiving, spiritual growth, and living simply.

In 2005, I was awarded the National Infocomm Scholarship and began my professional journey with Fujitsu Asia Pte Ltd. It was a meaningful start, but in the years that followed, my declining mental health made it difficult to hold down stable employment. In 2012, I was formally diagnosed, and I began a new phase of life focused on self-care and family support.

Today, I assist in my family’s business and live modestly, supported by government subsidies and personal mindfulness. I no longer chase the conventional idea of success, but instead walk a path of reflection, minimalism, and service to those close to me.

My spiritual practice is rooted in Mahayana Buddhism, especially the Threefold Lotus Sutra and Vimalakirti Nirdesa Sutra. These texts remind me that even laypeople — those outside temples or titles — can live meaningfully with integrity and compassion.

Causes I care about:

  • Mental health awareness and destigmatization
  • Buddhist practice in daily life
  • Caregiving and elder support
  • Social safety nets and public policy
  • Simplicity and ethical living

I’m not currently seeking newer employment or romance, but I’m open to connecting with others walking similar paths, whether through quiet introspection or active engagement in compassionate work.
