To Whom It May Concern

A Korean Zen monk once visited my hometown, and I had the chance to interact with him. In his words, Buddhism is like trying to reach the top of a mountain, there are more than one paths available, but every path will allow you to get closer to the top if you walk the path properly. Don't be in a hurry to reach the top, the path itself is meant to be enjoyable, so enjoy it. If Buddhism gets too suffering, chances are you might not be practising it correctly. So, take a step back, have a look at what you are doing, and see what needs to be adjusted.

I myself have not reached the mountain peak before, i.e. nirvana, but I have settled down midway along the metaphorical mountain where I continue to practise Zazen in my makeshift zendo where I also hope to be useful to others in showing others the way forward. I wish you well, and may you find happiness and the causes of it. If Buddhism is not making you happy, then why bother practising it. The reason why I remain a Buddhist all these years is because the Buddha and His teachings have alleviated my suffering and made me a happier person, and I reciprocate by giving what I have to offer out of gratitude.

Have a good day.
