Eight Training Precepts

As a lay Buddhist, I customise my training precepts so that they are more in sync with how I wish to lead my life. The eight training precepts I undertake are as follows:

  1. Refrain from killing.
  2. Refrain from stealing.
  3. Refrain from fornicating.
  4. Refrain from lying.
  5. Refrain from intoxicating.
  6. Refrain from joining politics.
  7. Refrain from starting schisms.
  8. Refrain from breaking laws (such as violating traffic rules).
